If you love books and publishing, then naturally you will love working at a publishing house. North Atlantic Books is an indie, nonprofit publishing house that has a specific vision and theme for the kinds of books they publish. It's a neat environment!
What I wish was different
The company could update its technology and streamline internal communication processes. Publishing is also an industry that doesn't have the kind of funding that other industries have, and you can definitely feel that while working there.
Advice
Publicity is great if you are super passionate about books and marketing and if you are able to support yourself in the Bay Area on a low salary.
