Parking Attendant

May - September 2019 • Cuyahoga Falls, OH

What I liked

It was really interesting and entertaining. I also got into concerts for free.

What I wish was different

It can be chaotic and long shifts that kept me out late.

Advice

It is a fun job that will work around your schedule. However, if you don't like being outside, it isn't for you.

Parking Attendant

May 2014 • Cuyahoga Falls, OH

What I liked

I liked being able to work outside and get exercise.

What I wish was different

I wish my bosses and supervisors would’ve gave me opportunities for advancement.

Advice

Don’t break your back trying to make others see that you are worthy and that you have potential. If they haven’t already already seen it, then move on. The right people will see it.

What I liked

I loved being involved in the live music scene. It's something I would want for a career

Sponsorship intern

May - August 2011 • Indianapolis, IN

What I liked

Working at a large company on large events - lots of experience for my future job

What I wish was different

It should’ve been paid because it’s such a large company and they can afford that

VIP and Premium Seat Sales Intern

May - August 2018 • Westbury, NY

What I liked

I liked the people there and the environment. I liked the energy of the other employees as well as the guests. Every time I worked, I felt that each time was a different experience which is important to me because it made me feel more excited and happier to be there.

What I wish was different

I wish i was at a bigger location because the Theatre at Westbury is so small, they only hire when someone leaves. There was only 1 marketing intern and I was 1 out of 3 in the Premium Seats area. I would have loved to be asked to return and after I graduate I will reach out. Knowing I would have a job after graduation would be helpful and I wished that happened, I am just hoping there is an opening in May.

Advice

You are super active and involved in every aspect which makes this position great for a first time experience into the industry.

Premium Seats Sales Intern

May - September 2017 • Corfu, NY

What I liked

I really liked that I got to be in the entertainment industry. It's a very exciting atmosphere when there's huge crowds and live music, not to mention the chance of seeing celebrities backstage.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish had been different was that I feel as though I didn't learn as much as I could've about the industry/sales. For the most part I was cleaning or setting up before shows.

Advice

Ask lots of questions! And give your opinion if you feel it's beneficial to the company. I feel like I shyed away from speaking up, because I was scared I would say the wrong thing.
