It is very necessary to get something to do in your domain of studies while schooling because experience makes you realise the difference between classroom and field. This will go a long way in making you shape your approach in studies and specialization. It permits you formulate questions that arise as a result of personal experience and even help you develop ways of solving problems that classroom will not you do not have in a classroom environment, besides you will meet people of different level of technique from where you can easily get practical training. Experience is the best teacher in my opinion.
