Software Development Engineer Intern

What I liked

Great communication with my manager, opportunity to take initiative for projects, and to self-study.

What I wish was different

Everything was remote, so it would have been nice to see people in person. There were also many professionals on the team in different time zones, so that was challenging to navigate.

Advice

Make sure to take initiative, whichever team or topic you're working on. Reach out to others, share your interests and experience where applicable.

Computer Help Desk Representative

June 2018 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

Practical experience in doing help desk that require good knowledge in computer and time management

What I wish was different

Breakdown activities into departments and narrow the field of action for associates. This will increase efficiency and better results than at the moment. Seems that is the case at the moment.

Advice

It is very necessary to get something to do in your domain of studies while schooling because experience makes you realise the difference between classroom and field. This will go a long way in making you shape your approach in studies and specialization. It permits you formulate questions that arise as a result of personal experience and even help you develop ways of solving problems that classroom will not you do not have in a classroom environment, besides you will meet people of different level of technique from where you can easily get practical training. Experience is the best teacher in my opinion.
