The Michael Curry Summer Internship Program offers current college juniors, seniors, and graduate students in all disciplines (including law) an opportunity to work in one of the agencies under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Governor on a full-time basis for ten (10) weeks during the summer. In order to be eligible you must be a citizen of Illinois. 

Deadline to submit application is April 7th, 2024 at 11:59PM CT.

  • Eligible applicants must be Illinois residents who have not previously participated in the Curry Internship Program.
  • Curry interns will receive a stipend of $2,600 per month.
    • The Curry Interns are paid as a normal State of Illinois employee via normal payroll. If they work a full pay period, they will be paid as any other State employee. If they work less than full-time (37.5 hours a week), they should be paid the hourly equivalent of their monthly base salary ($2,600.00), for the pay period(s).

The application process for the 2024 Michael Curry Summer Internship Program is done completely online. The following documents must be submitted to Gov.CurryInternship@illinois.gov for your application to be considered:

DoIT has 3 internships available: 

  • Supplier Diversity
    • Reporting to DoIT’s Chief of Supplier Diversity, the intern will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with DoIT’s supplier diversity goals and accurate data reporting. The job duties include data management activities, contract monitoring, and outreach and communication with vendors.
  • Web Services
    • The intern will perform work to improve the stability and security of the migrated website. The duties include troubleshooting and resolving errors arising from the migration and data conversion.
  • Accounting
    • As a member of the DoIT Fiscal GAAP team, the intern will work closely with our staff CPAs. The duties will involve monthly fiscal reporting, technical accounting, and reconciliations.
