Individual Giving Officer

The Individual Giving Officer (IGO) is responsible for inspiring, broadening, and deepening the support of individual donors to Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL). The IGO executes the strategy and management of the midlevel portfolio with the responsibility of building a robust donor base at all levels of giving. This position works under the supervision of the Campaign Director.

Position can work out of the Chicago Administrative office or one of our Central IL locations.

Essential Functions:

1. Work in collaboration with team members at PPIL, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and other affiliates when applicable to develop cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation strategies for the midlevel donor portfolio. 
2. Work closely with Major Gifts Officers to build a Midlevel Giving program that serves as a donor pipeline for major gifts.
3. Supervise the collection, entry, and integrity of data related to the Midlevel Giving program, including contact notes, wealth modeling and research, biographic and demographic information, and moves tracking.
4. Develop and implement a donor communications plan and ensure adequate reporting of communications data.
5. Perform prospect research on current and prospective donors.
6. Maintain timely and accurate records on individual donors and potential donors to support ongoing activity and future fundraising - including plans, tracking, and reporting.
7. Establish long term goals and annual objectives for a midlevel portfolio of individuals in collaboration with the Campaign Director and Major Gift Officers. Conduct regular and ongoing portfolio analysis, communicate outcomes and challenges, suggest portfolio adjustments as needed, and project results as needed for reports and planning.
8. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward the assigned portfolio of individual prospects for midlevel gifts. Ensure that the assigned portfolio is managed with the highest professional and ethical standards.
9. Support planning and execution of statewide fundraising special events to meet departmental goals, including cultivation events throughout the state. 
10. Support the work of fundraising volunteers, including board members, in their cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. Provide committees with necessary information, reports, and internal support to ensure their success.
11. Participate in the solicitation of board members.
12. Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisor: Campaign Director

Status: Full-time, exempt from the overtime provisions of the wage and salary administration policies.

Qualifications: 
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Experience: A minimum of three years of fundraising experience

Professional qualities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A self-motivated team player who can energize and lead both staff and volunteers. Dedication, flexibility, attention to detail and creativity a must. Familiarity with fundraising software (Salesforce experience a plus) and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Must be willing to maintain a flexible work schedule including evening and weekend hours and state-wide travel. Must possess a valid driver’s license. All candidates must have a commitment to operating goals of Planned Parenthood and possess the ability to contribute to the overall goals of the development department and organization.
