Marketing and Communications Internship

Marketing and Communications Internship
Reports to: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Pay Category: Unpaid
Other compensation: Occasional food and travel
Required Hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)
Overview of responsibilities:
  • Assist in the production of marketing content for email, print, web, and social media platforms
  • Monitor and moderate interaction on these platforms as well as analyze data from various outlets
  • Analyze marketing and communications trends in the museum and nonprofit arts fields
  • Develop press releases and other public relations content
  • Research ways to expand Intuit's digital and print reach
  • Establish mutually beneficial community partnerships
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Provide general support to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator
  • Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis
Desired skills and qualifications:
  • Previous communications, marketing, public relations, or creative internship/volunteer experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design programs preferred
  • Interest in museums and nonprofit arts organizations preferred
  • Strong copy editing and writing skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Good interpersonal skills
