Fall Marketing Intern

Bright Pink is the only national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. Our innovative education and support programs educate, equip, and empower young women to be proactive with their breast and ovarian health. We work with world-class brands and media partners to educate the 52 million young women in the US between the ages of 18 and 45 who have the power to be proactive and reduce their risk for these cancers, or detect them at an early non-lifethreatening stage. Founded in 2007, Bright Pink is headquartered in Chicago and is a national organization.

Position Summary

The role of Bright Pink’s (BP’s) Marketing Intern is to support media relations, corporate partnerships, digital media management, communications and content design. The Marketing Intern will learn the ins and outs of nonprofit marketing activation and evaluation. Additionally, the intern will be exposed to the inner-workings of what it takes to run a start up. The intern will report directly to the Director of Marketing. This paid position can be part-time or full-time and is based at Bright Pink’s Headquarters in Chicago.

 

Essential Functions

 

·       Media Relations: Track press mentions, and assist in media pitches.

·       Communications and Content: Assist in drafting communications including email marketing and original storytelling content.

·       Digital Media Management: Manage Bright Pink’s social communities including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as digital channels including email marketing and the organization’s website, BrightPink.org. Create and maintain a content calendar for these channels to manage a constant conversation with our stakeholders. Compile analytics at the end of each month to measure the effectiveness of these channels and suggest optimizations.

·       Corporate Partnership: Support execution of cause marketing initiatives. Current partners include Aerie, Yoplait, , Dirty Girl Mud Run, NBA and Ebay, among others.
