Administrative and Development Internship
Reports to: Development Coordinator
Pay Category: Unpaid
Other compensation: Occasional food and travel
Required Hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)
Overview of responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Development Coordinator
- Assist with entering donations and membership fees into donor database and prepare donor tax letters/membership materials
- Carry out administrative tasks related to development initiatives including event mailings, annual fund letters, donor acknowledgement letters, and more
- Identify new funding opportunities and gather materials needed for grant applications
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Provide general support to the Development Manager
- Assist with occasional special fundraising evening events as needed (typically once a month)
- Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, donors, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Previous grant writing, fundraising, or development internship/volunteer experience preferred
- PC skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word)
- Experience using donor management software helpful
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Detail-oriented
- High level of professionalism
