Cinematographer / Editor

Project Title & Description: 
LOVE IS HERE 2018 project explores the culture of African-American women (and women of color) and sexual harassment & “rape culture”. This will be carried-out via conducting a workshop, and one-on-one interviews, that will be illustrated in a short (15-20 min.) documentary. Its purpose is to capture and understand the actions, perceptions, and language, around "rape culture" & sexual assault, through a cultural lens. 
Position: Cinematographer / Editor 
The LOVE IS HERE Project is looking for a senior level undergrad or graduate student in the Film / Documentary / Cinema & Television Arts department, to film & edit our (15 - 20 min.) documentary. 
This position reports to the Project Manager.
*PLEASE NOTE: though this is a paid / stipend position, it is also a work of passion that requires an understanding of the philosophy, “serving the people”.

The Cinematographer / Editor will work closely with the PM to bring to life the storyboard and script as written, yet she / he will be the lead in adding creative shots and editing to the script. She / he will provide weekly edits to the PM. They will film shots around Chicago and will film one ninety-minute workshop at our partnering school in the South Shore area, along with two 1:1 interview’s (location TBT). The editor will provide two final cuts of the film; one with music and one without. 
This is a stipend position that totals $300.00. The funds will be disbursed in three increments (completion of filming, submission of draft, and final cut(s)).  
We are looking to start the project toward the end of the month (Feb. & plan to complete it on or by March 31st ...though this time frame is flexible).
