Content Producer

General Job Description:

WCIU-TV, The U gives Chicago a fresh new start to the day with The Jam TV show. Our stations morning show airs weekdays 6am-8am. Bold and unfiltered, the program features a combination of local and national headlines, unique weather coverage and a dedication to the Chicagoans who make the city and surrounding suburbs great. The Jam is in need of an experienced Content Producer, with a strong news background and excellent news judgment, who is looking for the unique opportunity to be a part of a motivated team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Shoot and edit video packages for air, using broadcast and DSLR cameras.

Work with talent and producers to form segments that fit the format of the new show.

Perform live shots.

Brainstorm creative and innovative ideas for future segments.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be an efficient storyteller, with the skills necessary to redefine television in the nation's third largest market.

The ability to conceptualize, book, plan, shoot and edit engaging and visual media is necessary.

The successful candidate must have experience working under tight deadlines, and be able to self-manage.

Previous editing experience, as well as field shooting, lighting and sound experience, are required.

Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.

Bachelors Degree required.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
