Summer Design Internship

Our Design Internship allows college students to experience being a Designer at Abercrombie & Fitch. We have Internships available for rising seniors in apparel design and technical design. Interns are assigned a mentor and work for a specific product and gender category within one of our brands. This program is structured to give interns a great deal of responsibility quickly and gain immediate exposure to the design process.

What Will You Be Doing?

APPAREL DESIGN:

• Drive comprehensive design processes by creating concept boards, sketches and illustrations for each season
• Support the product development process from initial sketch to finished product
• Explore and research emerging trends in the global market to deliver product that is aligned with the customer and market perspective
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and deliver trend right assortments in the brand handwriting
• Influence aesthetic and fit direction for your product category

TECHNICAL DESIGN:
• Create and edit patterns to drive fit direction
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure proper construction and fit through interactive fit sessions
• Create detailed technical illustrations & specifications using Adobe Creative Suite
• Exposure to overseas vendors to manage the sampling process

Currently pursuing a degree in fashion/apparel design, or relevant field

• Passion for the A&F brands
• Ability to identify and interpret relevant fashion trends
• Solid technical skills with an impeccable taste level and eye for color
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Career-driven, strong work ethic and high performance standards
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• A strong desire for adventure & curiosity
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast paced, structured environment
• Desire to learn and hunger for more
