Sourcing Internship
Position: Garment and Fabric Sourcing Internship
Overview:
As the leading dance costume and dancewear company, Weissman Designs for Dance has been in business for over 45 years. This internship will expose you to the fast-paced innovative process that drives our brand. The position will get you exposed to working with cross-functional teams to learn the process by which newly developed fabrics are adopted and approved to be used on mass produced costumes and dancewear. During this process, you will observe in-house production and overseas communication, fabric and garment sourcing, and product quality control. You will be immersed in a collaborative environment in a quickly growing family company, have exposure to China vendors, and will be allowed to make an impact on our product category. This internship position will prepare you for full-time roles through real-world problem solving and tangible experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Various organizational projects
- Asist the team in day to day tasks
- Aid in raw materials library
- Excel and internal systems data entry

Qualifications:
- Candidates should be a rising junior or senior in college pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Apparel Production, Fashion and Textile Management, Retail and Supply Chain Management or a related area of study.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or better
- Ability to prioritize projects and multi-task
- Quickly adapt to change
- Exhibit strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Have an interest in a career in fabric and garment global industry
- Proficient in Excel
- Eager and have a positive attitude
- Good attention to detail
