Jr. UI/UX Designer & Front End Developer

Peddinghaus Corporation is the acknowledged global leader in CNC machine tool technology for the structural steel and plate fabrication industry. We are in need of a skilled full time Junior UX Engineer with a knack and passion for good design. The ideal candidate will also possess Front End Development skills. The company is in the middle of a major project where you will be responsible for leading the requirements analysis, UI/UX design, prototyping/wireframing, HTML+CSS development, Javascript development and quality assurance testing.  

Skills/Experience/Requirements:

•   Bachelors or higher degree in multimedia design, computer science or equivalent education

•   Extensive portfolio that demonstrates a solid understanding of both UX and UI techniques and processes

•   5+ years verifiable UI/UX design and development

•   5+ years HTML+CSS

•   5+ years AngularJS or ReactJS development

•   5+ years JavaScript/jQuery

•   5+ years Responsive Design

•   Sketches, Wireframes, Mockups and Prototyping workflow

•   UI/UX tools (i.e. Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, Invision)

•   Adobe Creative Suite

•   GIT, SVN or equivalent

•   Willingness to learn back end development

•   Outgoing, open person and a good team player

•   Excellent written / verbal communication skills

•   Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment

Helpful But Not Required:

•  Experience with Laravel PHP web framework

•   PHP/Java/Python/C++/C#

•   SQL/MySQL

•   Windows/Linux Server

•   iOS/Android development

Tasks:

•  Create cross-platform user interface design concepts for desktop, tablet and mobile, paying attention to user experience, usability and accessibility

•   Design/Develop interactive mockups and prototypes

•   Create graphics and visual elements for applications and digital marketing materials

•   Implement complex web applications using HTML+CSS and JavaScript

•   Maintain and improve our product solutions

•   Explore upcoming technologies and assess their suitability for our products

Candidate will collaborate with Marketing Communications Specialist, Graphic Designer, and Web Development Specialist.
