User Experience (UX) Internship

The team:
User experience within GN Hearing is a dynamic team of UX Designers, with expertise in User Research, Concept, Interaction and Visual Design. We strive to have “Design Thinking” as the cornerstone of our concepts and prototypes. We work tirelessly to ensure that explorative user driven design processes are at the foundation of our work. Student intern responsibilities will include assisting the UX team in different projects and tasks, securing state of the art design deliverables.
We are actively recruiting UX student interns to help us concept, visualize, prototype and communicate our design ideas as part of the product development process. You will join a dynamic and international team of User Experience Researchers and User Interface designers. 

Supervisor: Director of User Experience

Hours a week:

Flexible based upon the needs of the student and availability. Minimum time commitment is 16 hours.   

 A $16/per hour stipend is available.


Tasks: 
·      Conduct user focused interviews including, journey mapping, empathy mapping and contextual inquiry
·      Create wireframes for early prototype design
·      Learn and implement GN Brand Guidelines and the Guidelines of all GN affiliated brands
·      Assist in the design of GN digital products (software, apps, web)
·      Assist in the creation of mock ups used in internal and external communication
·      Assist in the creation of wireframes and prototypes to be used in usability test 
 
Needed Skills and Interests: 
 
·      Creative, innovative, with an empathetic way of thinking
·      A quick and curious learner
·      A portfolio of at least 3 projects demonstrating competency in design work
·      Must be enrolled at an accredited university working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree within Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology, Computer Science, Fine Arts or other related field
·      Excellent communication skills both within the design team and with cross-functional teams
·      Competency with Adobe Creative Cloud
·      Knowledge of Sketch
·      Knowledge of Axure, Invision or other prototyping tools
 
Tools:
- Have mac computer or willing to work on a PC, however if you do not have a laptop we will provide a PC for you.
