Editorial Intern
Position Summary:
The Editorial Intern will assist the Editorial Department with a variety of tasks to include copyediting, proofreading, fact checking, coordination of metadata and production materials, as well as any other relevant requests from the Executive Editor or Publishing Director.
Responsibilities*:
- Work independently and accurately on projects as requested
- Review and respond to manuscript submissions
- Under the guidance of the Executive Editor, editing of one picture book from start to finish
- Send author and illustrator bio forms as needed, put in correct folder on server, inform editors and designers as they are returned
- Request photos of authors and illustrators with credit lines, put in correct folder on server, inform editors and designers as they are submitted
Background/Experience/Skills:
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style is a plus
Education:
- Junior, Senior or graduate of an English, literature, journalism or editorial program needed.
Benefits:
