Become a Hubbard Street Dance Administrative Intern!
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is seeking Administrative Interns for the Winter/Spring 2019 season. This unique opportunity affords candidates unparalleled professional training in all levels of studio and community program administration to further their development as arts administrators. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about dance education, interested in pursuing a career in the arts, and are motivated to learn about creating community dance programs, in schools and in our studios.
With opportunities to create meaningful connections with the best professional teaching artists, dancers, choreographers, and arts administrators in the field, interns will gain hands-on experience and leave well prepared, with a portfolio of work for the next steps in launching their career.
Administrative Interns will be on site at the Hubbard Street Dance Center’s Youth Dance Program. Interns will work on large and small projects, receive ongoing mentoring and training, attend free professional development workshops, and attend staff meetings to understand and contribute to the administrative details that support all programs.
Requirements
· Must be a college student or recent graduate
· Some dance experience is preferred, but not required.
· Preferred candidates will be available for a minimum of three five-hour shifts per week, 2 of which must be evening or weekend, January – May. Breaks correspond to current Chicago Public Schools calendar.
· Must pass background check

· Supporting the administrative needs of a busy dance studio and extensive community programs
· Attendance at staff and planning meetings
· Attendance at all required training and professional development workshops
· Successful completion of portfolio assignments
