Paid Museum Internship
An exciting opportunity is available at the Campbell County Rockpile Museum in Gillette, Wyoming. The museum’s member organization, the Rockpile Museum Association, is offering a paid internship opportunity for students who are looking at pursuing a career in the field of museums and archives. This internship will offer a focus area of:
Collections Cataloging: This opportunity will instruct the intern of the components of Past Perfect museum software, including categorization and cataloging. They will also photograph or scan artifacts, photographs and documents and prepare and upload records into Past Perfect Online. Proper handling, storage, and rehousing techniques will be taught.
The internship will require attendance at the Dance Through the Decades fundraiser in June and a final public presentation about the work and experience in July.
This is a paid internship opportunity with the following benefits:
Paid housing for the two-month duration of the internship. June 1 - July 31, 2020
Paid membership to a variety of organizations including:
· 2 month pass to Campbell County Rec Center
· 1 year membership to Campbell County Historical Society
· 1 year membership to the Pumpkin Buttes Archaeological Society
· 1 year membership to the Rockpile Museum Association
· Tickets to a variety of activities and places of interest
And, a monthly stipend of $700.
